So when you want to use one of these characters you need to use the appropriate ampersand code. When a Browser program sees this it will display as the correct character. To do this you type in &# followed by the number of the character you wish to use from the chart, and follow it with a ;. So "½" would display as "½", or to display an Ellipsis, (…), you would use ….
